A NEW Ted TALK FOR 2026…………

  • Paul Revere warned that the British were coming—and so was his expense report.
The midnight ride was famous, but not free. (And the bean-counters weren’t happy.)
  • Great Britan today is America’s closest ally. Still doing battle?
    Concord & Lexington.
  • Most New Englanders know the so-called, “Battle of Bunker Hill” was actually fought on nearby Breed’s Hill.
Most have no idea that now 14 generations of Breeds and Bunkers still bicker and trade shots (online) over the revolution’s most fateful misnaming. Just ask Jed Breed. Ted did.
  • What’s up with that peculiar gravestone in historic Copp’s Hill Burying Ground that looks like it was used for target practice? It was. 250 years ago.
  • Who’s got naming rights? Philadelphia is generally credited as “birthplace of the U.S. Navy.
Not on board? Whitehall, NY, Marblehead, MA, Machias, Maine, and even possibly, maybe, perhaps Portsmouth, NH. Ted settles the debate. (Spoiler alert: a coin toss may be involved.)

These are the lesser-known stories behind the more famous ones from New England’s Revolutionary War period. It’s a fun and informative foray through fact vs. fiction.

(Now try saying “fun and informative foray” 50 times fast.)
